IN 8 TEACHERS

Toni Schoen's Bio
(Yogalates teacher & owner of Inner8Centre)

My Yoga journey started in my late thirties, at a time when my whole world was falling apart. I’d been suffering back & leg pain for many years due to injuries
I’d sustained from two motor vehicle accidents in my twenties.  The migraines were increasing to a weekly event and I was becoming seriously
depressed, sadly this was effecting my relationship with my children and partner. All I was being offered for relief was back surgery, anti-depressants and pain killers.

Thankfully in a chance meeting I had my first Yoga experience. That one Pose (child pose) with this big Buddha like man sitting on my Sacrum turned my life around.  I had my first night sleep in over 8 years and couldn’t wait to find out what he had done as at that time I’d no idea of Yoga.  Within a few days I was in his class and loving it.  Struggling to keep up with the rest of the class, I’m ever so grateful to my teacher’s persistence to keep going, I’ve never looked back.  Within a few weeks I was a changed person and his way of teaching set a precedent in me......Body Awareness!
After 5 years and really embracing Yoga into my life I was distort when my teacher went to India.  To really make matters worse while searching for another teacher I’d got quite badly injured in a Yoga class.  This put me on a search to do Yoga training, that way I could be my own teacher but........ where and with whom?

You guess it.......Byron Bay Yogalates!  Why?  because after investigating how Yogalates  came about and then meeting the founder Louise Solomon

I was hooked.  Louise had created a wonderful union of Yoga and Pilates, allowing people to really embrace the many wonderful benefits of the these two modalities without injury.
Yogalates  is Body Awareness and more.......self respect / self love!  The thought of teaching.....you got to be joking!  Never did I envision myself teaching others, I did the training to be my own teacher.  Well....never say never!  Within a few months of finishing the training I was teaching up to 8 classes a week and as they say..... the rest is Inner8Centre’s story!  It has been a challenging, exciting journey but most importantly a very rewarding one, seeing the joy of others getting their life back much the same way as when my Yoga journey started!

NAMASTE TO ALL!
